Quick Overview

This Naked Army 'RARE' figurine depicts an Australian infantryman during the battle of Lone Pine, Gallipoli August 6 1915. He is shown thrusting downwards with his bayonet as he tries to penetrate the Turkish defences, which were in places covered with logs as overhead protection.

He wears the standard issue Pattern 1908 webbing set and carries the Short, Magazine Lee Enfield rifle (SMILE) and 1907 bayonet with hook quillon. His tunic sleeves and back have white calico patches to help distinguish the attacking troops from the enemy.

The Battle of Lone Pine raged from August 6th to 10th 1915 and was to become remembered for its relentless ferocity. Our sculpture was inspired by the Australian War Memorial's dramatic LONE PINE diorama, which portrays the first wave of Australian troops attacking the Turkish defences.

Like all our NAKED ARMY products, this figurine has been carefully researched and created using traditional sculpting techniques.
