Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

851 Last

The 851 last is an update to our popular 850 last. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. Offering a specific heel shape that locks the heel in place for better fit and comfort on the back end of the boot, this supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.

Danner are a company of craftsmen skilled in the art of footwear. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest (USA), they strive to hold themselves to the highest standards.

A Danner boot is a mark of unsacrificing quality. It’s been that way since 1932, the year Charles Danner decided to open his boot making business in the midst of the Great Depression and risk his future on a stubborn belief that superior craftsmanship mattered. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest with their headquarters and Danner factory located along the Columbia river in Portland, Oregon, they strive each day to uphold ourselves to the highest standards, knowing that the product we build is no better than the hands that create it.

Customer Reviews

Poor quality Review by Will R
Be aware: 6 month warranty on these bad boys.
Very comfy BUT not very hardy. Being a chocko, I have worn these about 30 days in total since I bought them about a year back. After a recent Ex last month, the stitching has come apart on the toe and side of the boot, so have a gaping hole on the side. I will have to get them fixed at my expense or toss them. They weren't smashed or wet, and yet have come apart. Not what I expected of a good quality brand like Danner - dissappointed, and would NOT RECOMMEND. (Posted on 16/11/2016)
good boots Review by james
great boots, don't take long to wear in. wore them for 7 days on a field ex and never had any major problems. the lacing is tricky at first but you get used to it. cant have the lacing to tight where the ankle pivots otherwise it puts to much pressure on the ankle and pinches slightly. other than a very minor issue adjusting to the laces the boots are great. they look great and will be used for a long time to come. Great boots! Review by dale
Great boots for the price, nice light and firm. Only took a couple of hours to of wear to loosen them up and had no problems wearing them for a week long dismounted infantry ex.
Love the way in which the lace system locks the heal in to the boot to reduce rubbing in the heal area, though the lace system takes a little bit to get used to.
Great piece of kit. (Posted on 2/06/2015)
