The Parry Hunter Knife

The Parry Hunter is a new design of knife in the Parry Portfolio of knives. The design follows the same format as the Parry blade with the Mel Parry signature design of blade with a bellied Bolo/Bowie type clipped blade with a serrated back edge. It is of full tang construction with Micata grips held in place with brass rivets and a lanyard hole. However, the hammer head common to the Parry blade has been discarded in favour of reducing weight, as indeed has the overall length of the knife to 12.5 inches (317mm) and a blade length of 7.5 inches (109mm).

This design was initiated as a compromise to saving weight whilst retaining most of the functions inherent in the need to retain the functions necessary for survival. Being lighter in weight and smaller in size than the Parry blade makes it more desirable to carry on a day hike, but crosses that divide between survival and combat. The blade shape, whilst more than adequate for survival also lends itself to self-defence, but still contains all the survival features in a premium blade of robust construction.

The Parry Hunter is manufactured from X460Cr13 420 stainless steel having a blade thickness of 3/16 inches (4.5mm). The blade is coated in a matt black or grey finish or alternatively can be supplied polished. It is supplied with a fabric sheath.

Whilst we have attempted to retain most of the functions of the Parry blade in the design of the Hunter the overriding task has been to reduce weight and consequently cost.

The Hunter is not a substitute for the Parry blade, but simply an alternative in meeting the everyday needs of the Hiker, the Hunter, the Survivalist, the Prepper.

To be prepared should manifest itself in having the best equipment available, and that has to be one of the Parry Portfolio’s of knives.
